报告题目(英文):Introduction to Dilute Magnetic Semiconductors
报告内容简介:近年来,稀磁半导体因其可以同时调控电子电荷和自旋两个自由度而备受关注。不仅于此,稀磁半导体具备独特的磁学,磁光和磁电性能,具备开发为自旋器件的可能性。鉴于此,我们应该明确稀磁半导体这个概念。为此,本讲座将从半导体的定义及分类说起,引出稀磁半导体。通过和非氧化物稀磁半导体比较,体现出氧化物稀磁半导体的重要性。最后,一些稀磁半导体的重要应用也会有所涉及。

报告人简介(中文):P. Venugopal Reddy教授是A.P.科学院院士,印度Osmania大学物理系教授,从事研究铁磁性材料、金属玻璃、高Tc超导体、巨磁阻锰氧化物、稀磁半导体、尖晶石铁磁电材料等近30年,在国际期刊共发表超过150篇论文,顺利完成了12个由不同资助机构资助的课题,指导17位博士研究生完成研究工作。拥有3项基于铁磁材料不同方面的专利,对研究生教授凝聚态物理已20多年,出版专著3部。对美国、意大利、日本、法国、新加波、马来西亚进行多次学术访问。Reddy博士现在是马来西亚玛拉科技大学客座高级教授,也是国际期刊Physics express的资深编委。
报告人简介(英文):Prof. P. Venugopal Reddy, Fellow of A.P. Academy of Sciences, has been working on various types of materials such as ferrites, metallic glasses, High Tc superconductors, Colossal Magneto Resistive manganites, Diluted magnetic semiconductors, manganite based multiferroics etc., at Dept. of Physics, Osmania University for the last 30 years. He has published more than 150 papers in International Journals and successfully completed 12 research projects funded by various funding agencies. 17 students were awarded Ph.Ds under his supervision and he is having three patents based on various aspects of ferrite materials. He has been teaching Condensed Matter Physics to post graduate students for the last 20 years. He is also author of three books. He has visited no. of countries including USA, Italy, Japan, France, Singapore and Malaysia. Dr. Reddy is currently a senior visiting Professor at University of Technology, Mara, Malaysia. He is also a senior editor of an International Journal- Physics express.
