范大山现为美国威斯康辛大学密瓦尔基校区 University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee)数学系教授。1990年在美国华盛顿大学（Washington University）学习获博士学位。1999-现在为美国威斯康辛大学密瓦尔基校区教授。 现为浙江大学，华中科技大学，华中师范大学兼职教授。范大山教授是国际知名的调和分析专家，他长期从事调和分析的教学与研究，已在国内外知名期刊上发表了高水平学术论文100余篇。
